OHPF is addressing dental care differently through outreach and public health education and adventure, from mobile dental clinics to free oral health camps.
Why support oral health in India?
Despite more than 1.4 billion people in India, the crisis encompassing dental health in India, particularly rural areas, is massive. Over 70% of the population is in villages, and so are most of the dentists, located in urban environments. Oral health problems like tooth decay, gum diseases and oral cancers exist, yet access to quality dental care is below standard.
OHPF is addressing that gap, through speaker and community based, dental health programs, targeting individuals with oral health needs.
Smile Express: Mobile Dental Clinics Activated in Rajasthan, India
Smile Express is one of OHPF’s most significant projects, a brand new dental van with full capabilities to deliver remote villages dental checkups, treatment, and education on site.
Key features:
- Semi electric dental chairs, suction units, X-ray capabilities
- Qualified dentists and dental assistants
- Free or low-cost dental treatment for rural populations
- Van will service districts like Jaipur, Bikaner, Sikar, Barmer, Bhilwara, Nagaur, etc.
With this mobile clinic, people will have no roadblocks for transportation, it will be a matter of the van being sent to underserved communities to ensure quality dental care is being delivered to people in desperate need.

The Jaipur Denture Initiative builds a bridge for seniors by providing affordable dentures that look good, and giving them back their dignity and functionality. It’s also important in marking OHPF as one of the few NGOs of India that is providing prosthetic dental care for its low-income populations.
